RuneScoop Monster Secrets - Mithril Dragon Guide Upon their introduction to the game in July 2007, mithril dragons captured the imaginations of many high-level RuneScape monster hunters, and while they have since been eclipsed by other more powerful foes, they are still of interest to many players who like to go after big beasties. That's definitely been true for me personallyI have killed several hundred miths (as they are commonly called) since they came out. For me, this has not been just about chasing after the mithril dragons' special rare drops, such as the draconic visage and the fabled dragon full helm. Its more about the challenge of finding efficient, cost-effective and relatively fast ways of killing these very difficult monsters. A guide to mithril dragons was the first monster guide on my old site, TruthScape, and so it is fitting that it be the first in my RuneScoop Monster Secrets series as well. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about mithril dragons, and the best ways of mastering them. It is based on dozens of hours of tests using a wide variety of equipment and techniques, refined to maximize kill speed without requiring excessive cost in supplies. I begin with an introduction to mith dragons, and a discussion of what you need in order to tackle them, as well as some prerequisites that I recommend before you proceed. I provide statistics on the dragons and talk about their strengths and weaknesses, and also tell you about their common, uncommon, rare and special drops. I then give you an overview of the challenges involved in fighting these dragons and a general discussion of tactics. I explain where the mithril dragon lair is located, how to access it, which of the seven dragons I recommend fighting and where you should stand. Finally, I describe six specific techniques for fighting them in complete detail. WARNING: Mithril dragons are among the most difficult monsters in RuneScape. These techniques are intended only for skilled, high-level players (with good Internet connections!). Even for them, there is a moderate to very high risk of death and possible equipment loss, depending on the particular method chosen to kill them. Proceed at your own risk.
