The RuneScoop Summoning Pouch and Scroll Efficiency Guide for RuneScape The main way of getting Summoning XP is by creating familiar pouches. Each pouch requires a particular set of ingredients, including one of the four color charms: gold, green, crimson or blue. Since charms are untradeable, most players spend time accumulating charms until they have a significant number. Then they collect or buy the other items they need, and spend time training the Summoning skill. Sponsored links help make RuneScoop possible; RuneScoop members don't see them. See here for more information about ads. Each of the four colors can be used to make many different pouches, which raises an obvious question: which ones should you make? Answering this can be easy in some cases: if you are after maximum XP, you should just make the one that gives the most experience at your level. But some secondary ingredients are much more expensive than others, and most players dont have unlimited funds. Some pouches require many more spirit shards than other pouches. And the value of the finished items can also vary greatly from one familiar to the next. The goal of this guide is to help you decide how to use up your precious stockpile of Summoning charms. For each color of charm, it shows you all of the possible pouches you can make, and what it costs to make each one based on the latest Grand Exchange prices for secondary ingredients. The tables in this guide also compute the best way to recover value for each pouchby selling it, alching it or trading it for spirit shardsand then compute the profit or loss you get per hour for making each pouch type. You can sort the pouches based on profitability, experience speed, efficiency (gp/XP) and more. I also do the same calculations for scrolls, so you can see whether it makes sense to convert pouches to scrolls after you make them. NOTE: This is not a complete guide to the most efficient way to train Summoning. That requires complex analysis to determine the best ways of getting charms, which charms to focus on, and when to use them over a prolonged period of training. This is just a tool intended to help you decide what to do with the charms you already have. For more information, including assumptions I made in my calculations, please see the reference page.
