Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.

One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.

If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

The RuneScoop Miscellania Resource Optimization Guide for RuneScape

Are you ready to rule your own kingdom... or... queendom? Well, in RuneScape, you can! After you complete the quest Throne of Miscellania, you become the regent of the tiny northern island, and can hire its citizens to gather useful resources for you. For just a couple of minutes’ worth of work every few days, you can get important raw materials like flax, herbs, coal, fish, logs, seeds and much more, all for a fraction of their “retail value”.

This “mini-minigame” is such a great deal that nearly every RuneScape member partakes of it. But nearly every player also has the same question, when it comes to deciding what to have the workers gather: “Which resource provides the most value?” Answering this question is not simple, because the workers gather not just the primary resource you set them to, but also bonus items that are somewhat random and can be quite valuable.

After many years of struggling with this myself, I conducted extensive research and figured out how to determine the value of all of the items obtained by a Miscellania worker from any of the ten resource options you can assign them. I then calculate the total and put them in a simple sorted table, which is updated daily for your convenience.

This “mini-guide” is pretty trivial; the table doesn’t need any explanation. However, I do think it is useful for you to understand some of the assumptions I make in my calculations, and I have a few tips for you to keep in mind as well. These are covered on the guide’s reference page.
