Green Dragon Green dragons are powerful foes that are rarely encountered on the Abandoned floors in Daemonheim. They are different in a few important ways from the green dragons encountered in lairs in the rest of RuneScape. Sponsored links help make RuneScoop possible; RuneScoop members don't see them. Appearance-wise, green dragons in Dungeoneering look quite different from anything seen above ground; they seem to have been given a new graphical model that makes them look far more menacing than anything outside of Dungeoneering. These dragons are also different in terms of behavior; of particular note is that they have a magic attack they can use from a distance. This means that in some ways they are more like brutal green dragons than regular green dragons. They will also melee when in melee range, and since Daemonheim rooms are small, that means most of each room is in melee range! These monsters require special handling because of their firebreath attack. While anti-dragon shields do exist in Daemonheim, these cannot be made like most equipment; they must be either picked up off tables in the starting room, or obtained as drops from other monsters. They are rarely used, not just because most players dont want to carry them around on the off chance of encountering a dragon, but because most players bind and rely upon two-handed weapons such as spears and mauls. One way to provide protection against dragonbreath while using a two-handed weapon is to make weak, regular or strong cure potions, using aloe, featherfoil or buckthorn respectively, combined with firebreath whiskey. This will grant immunity for 5, 10 or 20 minutes from dragon breath weapons. However, because of the time involved in doing this, and the relative scarcity of dragons in DaemonheimIve only seen three green dragons total as of level 73 in the skillmost players dont bother. The defensive option of choice is to put on Protection from Magic or Deflect Magic. This reduces the damage from firebreath attacks (in addition to blocking magic attacks), making it quite feasible to just tank any damage received. Most players add to this Piety or Turmoil to kill the dragon as quickly as possible. These dragons generally have weak defence, and are especially susceptible to stab or ranged attacks. They are strong to magic, as you might expect, and other melee styles are of moderate effectiveness. The lower-level versions typically found in solo dungeons are pretty easy to kill quickly, but level 200+ variants can be found on team floors, which have a lot of life points, and end up almost being like mini-bosses. Green dragons in Daemonheim drop dragon bones, but not dragonhides. The bones can be buried for the standard 72 Prayer XP, but cannot be offered for additional XP on Daemonheim altars.
Table 78 shows the stats on the two green dragons Ive found during solo play. Ive also seen one with a combat level over 200 in a group, but was not able to capture its stats.
