Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.

One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.

If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Locked Chests

Scattered widely across dungeon floors are strange locked chests that promise treasures to those who open them. These don’t look like most chests in RuneScape: they are small, square and seem to have a metallic shine to them, with rounded tops. They always seem to remind me of old-fashioned jukeboxes...

Chests are unusual in that even though they seem to follow the standard tiering system—tier 1 requiring level 1 Thieving, tier 2 requiring level 10 Thieving and so forth—they are not labeled or marked in any way to indicate their tier. Even their examine text says nothing. So you pretty much just have to open them and see what happens.

And opening them doesn’t require much effort: just click it, and if you have the necessary Thieving level then it opens up and you get what’s inside. Any items that don’t fit in your inventory will drop at your feet, sort of like what happens when opening the chest at The Barrows.

Locked chests are the “wildcards” of Daemonheim resources, with highly variable contents. The most common items to find are gold coins (sometimes quite a few of them) and charms. You can also get herbs, weapons, arrows and other items from them.

These chests are not usually very common within the Daemonheim maps, and because of their small size they are easy to miss. They are worth keeping an eye out for, however, because they are quick to open and can have a lot of potential value within them.
