I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

As in the rest of RuneScape, Smithing
is used to smelt ores into bars at a furnace, and then hammer them into
armor and weapons on an anvil.
Standard tiers are associated with 10 different ore and bar types, which
are then used to make 10 categories of equipment. Smithing requirements
are consistent across all metals, making it easier to figure out what
levels you need for a particular item.
See the listings of melee
equipment for the complete statistics
of metal armor and weapons, including items that cannot be player-made.
Sponsored links help make RuneScoop possible; RuneScoop members don't see them. See here for more information about ads.
A smith is definitely an artisan;
see Table 157
for the details on boosting Smithing.
The symmetric nature of
the Smithing skill within Daemonheim makes it possible to show the level
requirements and XP awards for all the different item and bar type combinations
in a single table (Table 159).
Each entry lists the Smithing level requirement and the XP gained for
making the item.
For example, to make a Zephyrium
battleaxe, look at the entry where the Zephyrium column intersects the
battleaxe row: you need level 55 Smithing (51 with a weak artisans
potion, 50 with a regular and 47 with a strong) and you get 115 XP per
item.
